The third annual Ryan Handy Memorial One Lap will feature an awards party, a silent auction and live races.

“VIR is proud to be associated not only with the Ryan Handy Memorial One Lap event, but also with the Victory Junction Gang Camp charity,” said Josh Lief, General Manager of VIR. “Events like these provide an important opportunity for both the public and the motorsports community to give something back. Last year, events like ours rose a little over $35,000 in Ryan’s name for the Victory Junction Gang Camp.”

The 3rd Annual Ryan Handy Memorial One Lap will be held Saturday evening at the Heacock Classic SVRA Gold Cup Historic Races. Anyone can participate by walking or running a single lap of VIR. The One Lap will end with an awards party. Two trophies are awarded at the end of the One Lap: one for the team that raises the most money and one for the team with the most participants. Participation in the One Lap is not required in order to donate. New this year is the addition of a silent auction. Bidding will take place on Friday and Saturday with the prizes from the auction and raffle being awarded during Sunday’s pre-race ceremonies. Prizes include race entries, racing tires, autographed memorabilia, VIR spa & dinner gift certificates and many more items.

In addition to the show, charity & social activities, this year’s Heacock Classic SVRA Gold Cup Historic Races will also this year feature a special Elva/Lotus Challenge race, IMSA RS/2.5L Challenge Sedans race and the 3rd Annual Ryan Handy Memorial One Lap. Fan participating in Saturday’s car show get to do parade laps for no extra charge. As a special bonus, Motorsports Hall of Fame member George Follmer will be on hand as Grand Marshal of the event.
