Tommy Hayden won Race 2 in a thrilling pass on Lap 11 for the victory over Yamaha’s Josh Hayes.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Tommy Hayden and Team Graves Yamaha rider Josh Hayes kept a terrific duel going throughout Race 2 in which a final pass during the penultimate lap led to an exciting and unpredictable finish.
Getting the early lead was Hayes ahead of Hayden, Blake Young and Ducati’s Larry Pegram. Jake Zemke was running fifth by the close of the opening lap with Pat Clark Motorsports rider Ben Bostrom and Suzuki’s Jake Holden in hot Pursuit.

Although Hayes gradually pulled away from the rest of the pack, Hayden kept his pace and stayed close to the leader with only 0.391 seconds separating them.
On Lap 3 Zemke overtook Bostrom while Young fell back to fifth just ahead of Pegram. Shortly afterward Young was able to increase his pace and advance to fourth ahead of Bostrom, but was still over a second and a half behind Hayden in second-place.
During the middle of the race Monster Energy Suzuki rider Jake Holden managed to fight his way ahead of both Bostrom and Young for fifth-place. Despite Bostrom taking fifth from Holden momentarily, he was able to retake fifth-place by the checkers.
Meanwhile over a three second gap was separating Zemke in third-place from frontrunners Hayes and Hayden. It was clear that one of the two would win barring any mishaps as they continued increasing their lead over the pack.
By Lap 9 Hayes and Hayden had generated over a five-second gap on Zemke in third-place. In the last few laps Hayden began the hunt for Hayes and was able to reel him in. With just one lap to go Hayden shot past Hayes and was able to stay in front across the finish line.
Following Hayes was Zemke, Pegram and Holden who rounded out the top-five finishers.
