Harley-Davidson CEO Keith Wandell will be joining a host of other company executives for The Motor Company’s annual ‘Ride to Sturgis.’
Harley-Davidson CEO Keith Wandell will be joining a host of other Harley executives to make the journey from the company’s home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the famed Sturgis Bike Rally in South Dakota. Joining Wandell on the approximately 865-mile ride will be H-D President and COO Matt Levatich, SVP and Chief Styling Officer Willie G. Davidson, Vice President of the Harley-Davidson Museum Bill Davidson and SVP/Chief Marketing Officer Mark Hans Richer. The entourage will be making promotional stops along the way at eight Harley-Davidson dealerships and invite motorcyclists and customers to join the ride or meet the group at the various stops along the way.
“We’ve enjoyed riding many miles with our customers over the years,” said Bill Davidson in a company press release. “Riding from the Harley-Davidson Museum in our hometown of Milwaukee to Sturgis in the heart of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota continues a tremendous tradition while giving us the chance to meet new friends along the way.”
The H-D ‘Ride to Sturgis’ will start with Bike Night at the Harley-Davidson Museum on Thursday, Aug. 5 with their arrival projected for Tuesday, Aug. 10, just in time to celebrate the 10th Annual Dakota Thunder Motorcycle Run that will be followed by a veteran’s tribute and a B-1 fly-by over Main Street.

Harley-Davidson will have free events going on all week long at two new locations this year that place them closer to the action in the heart of Sturgis. The Harley-Davidson Road Tour, featuring the soon-to-be released 2011 Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, parts and accessories displays, and a pin stop for H.O.G. members will be at 3rd and Lazelle Streets from Aug. 6 through Aug. 14. The Motor Company will also be offering demo rides at its second location near Interstate 90 at Exit 30 beginning Aug. 7 through Aug. 13.
It will be the first year that recently appointed CEO Wandell will be participating in the Harley-Davidson ‘Ride to Sturgis.’
