For sport motorcycle riding enthusiasts, Alpinestars has unveiled gear designed for use on the street, racetrack, or both. It’s highlighted by the $1399.95 Alpinestars Tech 1-R One Piece Leather Suit. This suit is derived from its top-of-the-line $2499.95 Race Replica and benefits from Alpinestars extensive involvement in both MotoGP and World Superbike racing with riders Nicky Hayden and Casey Stoner to name a few.
The Tech 1-R suit utilizes 1.3mm thick leather throughout with perforation on the torso, legs, and arms for ventilation. It also shares the same one-piece shoulder, knee, and elbow protectors developed directly from MotoGP. More trickledown technology comes in the form of the perforated back hump that improves aerodynamics and ventilation. It achieves its favorable price point by using different protection in the knee and shin areas, slightly less perforation, as well different stretch panels. The suit is available in three colorways: white, black, and red, and comes in a variety of sizes. Also, if you’re feeling the Tech 1-R design, but don’t want a full suit, you can purchase it as a riding jacket.
For sportbike riders who don’t plan on riding at the racetrack or prefer a more street-oriented riding get-up, Alpinestars offers its $499.95 GP Pro Leather Jacket. Similarly to the Tech 1-R the suit, it uses supple 1.3mm leather with an integrated back hump for improved ventilation and aerodynamics. It also features external plastic sliders on the elbow and shoulders and removable armor inside. Further armor can be installed in the vacant chest and back compartments. The jacket is also compatible with the Alpinestars Bionic Race Back Protector.
(Above) Alpinestars introduces the all-weather T-Gasoline for sport riders who need a versatile jacket. (Belows) The Alpinestars ST Vented Boot features perforation through much of the boot to keep your feel cool during sport rides.
Another new item is the Alpinestars T-Gasoline Waterproof Jacket. Retailing at a price of $209.95, this jacket is engineered for sport riders who demand the versatility of an all-weather riding jacket. It is made from polyester that has an extra coating on it for improved abrasion resistance. Similar to the Tech Touring jackets, the T-Gasoline has a waterproof internal membrane which seals the rider’s torso from the elements. It also has a modular thermal liner for use in cooler weather. Removable bio armor provides a line of defense in case of a crash, plus the jacket can accommodate both the back and chest protectors offered as accessories.
Designed to fit into the back of the aforementioned jackets, the Alpinestars Bio Armor Back Protector helps reduce the chance of back and spinal injuries. It’s both slim and lightweight and contours to the shape of the rider’s back. It’s designed specifically for use in Alpinestars latest leather and textile jackets and comes in three sizes (small, medium, and large) and retails for only $29.95.
In terms of footwear for the sport riding enthusiast, Alpinestars now offers its ST Vented Boot. This boot is similar in design and appearance to the Hydro Drystar Boot complete with its rubberized sole, stout shin plate, and internal ankle cups. The ST boot, however, offers heavy perforation throughout to keep your feet cool and dry when used in warmer environments. This boot comes in one color and retails at $179.95.
All of Alpinestars latest sport riding products will be available for purchase by the end of this month and can be ordered online at Motorcycle-Superstore.com.
