Hilde is holding down the fort at MotoUSA's Southern Oregon HQ. With world-class dirt bike and ATV trails just minutes away, the hardest part is getting him to focus on the keyboard. Two wheels or four, it doesn't matter to our Off-Road Editor so long as it goes like hell in the dirt.

Hear what Monster Energy Kawasaki’s top rider has to say in the Ryan Villopoto 2010 Motocross Interview Video.

For the second year in a row, Ryan Villopoto has not raced outdoor motocross. He managed a few to start 2009, and was looking like the favorite, but a blown ACL put him on the sidelines. He then made a full recovery and came into the Supercross season swinging on his potent KX450F. With Chad Reed alongside him under the Kawi tent, it looked like the strongest duo of any racing team. Unfortunately, RV injured his leg again, this time a broken tibia and fibula. A nasty crash in St. Louis left the title hopeful with a mangled right limb, and the Poulsbo, Washington resident went back to the operating table and then returned home to mend up.

Obviously, things have been quiet in the Villopoto camp. The three-time 250 Motocross champion (2006-‘07-‘08) started hitting the gym as early as possible with a limited workout regimen, and he’s been walking around on the leg for awhile now. We spotted him at the Washougal National, hanging with the Kawi boys and our racing correspondent, Justin Dawes, decided to grill him a bit about what he’s been up to. But mostly we want to know when he’s going to be back on the racetrack! Watch the Ryan Villopoto 2010 Motocross Interview Video to see what he has to say on the subject.

Here’s a little info from our Ryan Villopoto Bio page. Be sure to check it out for more about the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider.

RVs night and season ended badly with a broken leg after a nasty spill.
Villopoto, shown here racing in St. Louis before breaking his leg, hopes to be back in action as soon as possible.
