The ability to see clearly is the most important aspect when you’re riding or racing off-road. The folks at EKS Brand understand this and offer a solution with its reasonably priced moto goggle. It blends premium features and style starting at just under $30.
The goggle comes in three different models. The Flat-Out and Limited series are designed for adults with full-sized faces while the X-Grom model is made specifically for kids or smaller person’s head shape. All feature a pliable polyurethane frame that was designed to have just the right amount of flex so it better forms to the rider’s face ensuring comfort and fit.
Each goggle also uses exclusive four-layer foam arranged in different thicknesses to not only provide a good seal, but also superior sweat absorption. The lens is constructed form polycarbonate plastic and features a scratch and fog resistant coating and can be easily replaced. The lens is also compatible with EKS Brand tear-offs for competition use or riding in muddy or dusty conditions. A woven elastic strap with a conventional double buckle adjustment has an inner silicone print so it will stay in place on the rider’s helmet.
The $29.99 Flat-Out model features a solid frame in more conservative-looking colors with a clear lens. For those looking for added pizzazz you can choose from a brighter array of frame and strap colors with a mirrored lens for a $10 up-charge. For dirt bikers seeking the top-of-the-line goggle, EKS offers the Limited series which are the identical ones used by supported racers Mike Alessi and 2010 GNCC Off-Road Champion, Josh Strang.
Up until trying EKS Brand goggles we had never really put in much thought into what goggles we wore. However after using them its notable how much better its product performs as compared to other name brands. The shape of the frame is compatible with a wide range of helmets including: Bell, Shift, Shoei and Troy Lee Designs and fit our faces well which reduces the chance of dirt entering while riding. Equally as impressive is how well the face foam absorbs sweat even on sweltering 100-plus degree afternoons. Conversely, in colder conditions the lens does not fog. Both lenses provide a wide and unobstructed view but we noticed the mirror lens has a slight tint as compared to the clear which we welcome when riding in bright conditions. Considering the high level of fit, style and exceptionally reasonable price, these goggles have now become a favorite in our test riders’ gear bags.
