Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol’s Marc Marquez absolutely crushed the Moto2 field during Round 10 of the 2011 Moto2 Championship at Indianapolis. The Spaniard led 19 of the 26-lap clash to capture another win in the series ahead of HP Tuenti Speed Up’s Pol Espargaro, who achieved his first Moto2 podium on Sunday ahead of Blusens-STX ‘s Esteve Rabat. Overall It was an extremely good day for Spain as they swept the podium at the American venue. Tech 3 Racing’s Bradley Smith had a solid start from fourth on the grid to take the lead briefly during the opening lap. Ioda Racing Project’s Simonce Corsi then took over the lead and controlled the contest for the next seven laps until Marquez darted ahead. In the end Viessmann Kiefer Racing’s salvaged the race after a difficult start back in 22nd. The German rider finished sixth after making up tremendous ground, and still leads the championship despite losing a bit of ground to Marquez.
