The Thundersprint event is the main reason for visitors to this area of Northwich.
The Thundersprint brings in visitors from all over the country, as well as from many parts of Europe; and continues to grow each year.

Completely bucking the trend being reported by show organisers throughout Europe, this year’s Thundersprint showed strong attendance and visitor spend – both up on 2010’s already excellent figures.

An independent Economic Evaluation report undertaken by Marketing Cheshire showed: “Thundersprint contributed an additional expenditure of just over £7.3m to the Cheshire economy.” (source: Marketing Cheshire, July 2011)

The Thundersprint enjoys tremendous support from Cheshire West and Chester Council and Leader Mike Jones was delighted with the event’s economic and social success.

Mike said: “The Thundersprint is one of Cheshire West and Chester’s major events. We are extremely pleased with the number, and quality, of the visitors and also their increasing length of stay throughout Cheshire West.

“We are also proud of the Thundersprint’s inclusivity. In these challenging financial times, it is great to have an event which has free admission and so allows the whole community to join in.”

Thundersprint organiser Frank Melling was equally pleased. “Working with Cheshire West and Chester Council and our title sponsor, Bennetts, we are delighted to have been able to deliver another successful Thundersprint.

“The key to our success is that the Thundersprint appeals to everyone from hard core motorcycle racing enthusiasts to Mum, Dad and Gran wanting a relaxing, fun day out with the kids.

“At a time when everyone is feeling the pinch financially, we are proud to have an event which has free admission, free parking and free grandstands. We feel that these are key factors in the very high visitor spend.”
