RedDuc’s photo of his BMW posed in front of a small lake reminds you where a motorcycle can take you.
I was having just too much fun riding the bevy of adventure bikes we had at our disposal for nine days. But have no fear; this week we have two winners!
The first comes from a long-time forum member and POTW newcomer by the name of RedDuc. He came in swinging with a handful of great photos that make it obvious he is more than just a casual snapper. His shot of his BMW GS posed in front of a small lake has a cool morning feel, and his processing works well with the matte paint of the Beemer. I also like his use of vignetting. The positioning of the bike with the use of a wide angle lens enforces the strong stature and importance of the black machine. Above all the technical excellence of the image is the story that it tells. Adventure bikes not only are a blast to ride, but they can take you to some very interesting places.
Our second winner is now in the two-time winner club and
Slr’s second POTW winning shot of a 13-year old ripper destroying a massive hill climb on a 500cc 2-stroke is just awesome. No other way to describe it!
has achieved that status quicker than the rest. Slr’s photos of his friend’s son competing in a hill climb event is chock full of action. There is dirt flying everywhere, and the rider is throwing down some serious body English. Conveying how steep a hill is in a photo is always tough, but slr has pulled it off. And the final kicker why I love this photo – the rider is 13 years old and riding a 500cc 2-stroke better than most adults. Very impressive.
Keep adding those photos to the MotoUSA Photo of the Week Thread for your chance to be chosen as one of the excellent examples of motorcycle photography. Every winner is thrown into the mix for the Photo of the Year and a $500 shopping spree from EVS Sports. Until next week – happy riding and happy shooting.
