The team over at Cobra Engineering has fashioned up this great looking touring trunk rack to exclusively fit Kawasaki’s flagship V-Twin tourer, the Voyager.
Leading off is a rear rack for the tail trunk. The rack is cut from a single sheet of steel, then laser cut. The cutouts provide multiple attach points for bungees. The piece is then formed, polished and chromed. The steel mounting tabs follow the curve of the tour trunk to allow perfect mounting spots. The rack comes with a simple template that locates the rack in the correct position.
To accompany the trunk rack, Cobra has designed a complementary pair of saddlebag lid guards. These protect the paint and finish on the top of the saddlebag lids from scuff marks created when a passenger or even the rider swings a leg over the saddle and hits the top of the bag. These chromed steel guards are laser cut to match the tour trunk rack and are formed to follow the lines of the lids. Three attachment points secure the guards to the lids.
Like the trunk, these simple guards come with an easy-to-use template to locate the mounting points for a perfect installation. These guards will also fit on the later model Kawasaki Nomads as well.
Said Tim McCool, Cobra Engineering President; “These two products come out of the demand from our Kawasaki customers. They offer easy installation, and add to the style and function of the bikes. The lid guards are a quick fix not to damage the top of the bags and the tour trunk rack gives rider the ability to carry a bit more luggage securely and safely.”
The Rack is a $179.95 while the Saddlebag Lid Guards are $99.95 for the pair. Each comes with all the hardware needed to complete the installation and both are made entirely in the U.S.A.
