Cheed Reeds performance in Oakland improved remarkably near the end of the main where he stole second from Dungey.
With cheers from an Italian crowd Chad Reed fought his way to the overall win in the 2011 Genoa Supercross.

Australian Chad Reed recently dominated at Italy’s Genoa Supercross event, going 1-2 to clench the overall victory. The win was far from easy, however, as the TwoTwo Motorsports rider was forced to climb through the field after a poor start in the first moto. Justin Barcia also posted two podiums throughout the night, ending just shy of Reed in the final moto.
“I had a great time out there,” said Reed. “It was good to get a couple of races under my belt and see where I am at with my preparations for 2012. The track was tight so it was important to get good starts. I had a crash in the first race but still came through to second. As a team we learnt a lot and it will definitely help our preparations for 2012.”
Helping Reed celebrate his win oversees was TwoTwo Motorsports’ new technical director, Mike Gosselaar. Reed will now head back to the U.S. for more testing in preparation for the opening round of the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship.
