Motorcycle Artwork by Artist Tom Fritz
After risking life and limb to pull off one of the most famous wins in American dirt track racing history, Kenny Roberts was quoted as saying: “They don’t pay me enough to ride that thing.” Speaking of the 1975 Indy Mile, Roberts’ performance has now been immortalized through artist Tom Fritz’s masterpiece “So Woefully Underpaid.” For art connoisseurs, motorcyclists and racers alike, Fritz’s artwork captures a stunning moment in time that would make a great gift. SockMasters Moto Socks
Socks are the unsung heroes of motocross gear. A good set is important for maximizing comfort for any type of riding. SockMasters moto socks are made in New
Zealand and have become a personal favorite. The standard sock is the most durable I’ve ever used. The merino wool is thick but not overly warm. It really is a terrific fiber, as it absorbs sweat, dries quickly and is also warm enough for cold-weather riding. There are two thigh-high socks as well, a light version which is very thin, and a padded version which is heavier, though not as thick as the knee-high. I wear the padded thigh sock for its extra protection against knee braces. It’s easily long enough to fold over the top and stays in place as good as any other I’ve tried. They last as long as two pairs of other brands so they easily justify the price. Good undergarments are critical, and I now wear the SockMasters almost exclusively. – JC Hilderbrand

Rocky Mountain Radar Interceptor
Getting a speeding ticket sucks. It’s expensive, too. Rocky Mountain Radar has the antidote for those with heavy throttle hands. The Interceptor is a cordless radar/laser detector built exclusively for motorcycles. It reportedly provides 360-degree detection and is able to pick up all radar bands and lasers. An ear piece signals an alarm to riders. It also has a flashing blue LED indicator in the head set. It claims to be water- and shock-resistant and comes with a one-year warranty. A mounting bracket is included and a peek at the instruction manual shows the installation process is straight-forward. The Interceptor can easily pay for itself in the first ticket it helps you avoid. We’re not advocating speeding, but should the ol’ speedo creep above the limit, it’s good to know that hopefully you’re covered. – Bryan Harley
