It’s that time of the year when motorcyclists gather to see what’s new on the road from custom builders and manufacturers. Top that off with a dose of exciting entertainment and you have the 16th annual Northeast Motorcycle Expo!
This year’s event will take place Jan. 21 and 22 at the XL Center in Hartford. As has become tradition over the years, the Northeast Motorcycle Expo not only features biker’s favorite brands, dealers and merchandise, but electrifying entertainment and rousing competitions as well.
“We try really hard to find unique and fun opportunities to make attending one of our shows an awesome experience all around,” says Lou-Ann Clement, managing partner of the Kev-Marv Productions, which produces the expo. “The ideas to keep the shows fresh and exciting just keep on coming. This is our 16th year promoting shows in the Northeast and we look forward to many more.”
Meet Sons of Anarchy Star Chuck Marstein “Chucky” ALL WEEKEND at the XL Center in Hartford January 21st & 22nd!
Don’t blink or you will miss the “Fastest Woman on Wheels!” Jody Perewitz will appear with her mind-blowing motorcycle at all of Kev-Marv’s 2012 shows. In August Perewitz and Team J’witz set a land-speed record of 188.911mph. Previously at the Loring Timing Association event in Maine, Perewitz made another world record pass at 164 mph. With updates to her motorcycle including mounting a partial streamline body, they set out for the Bonneville Flats. This body allowed Perewitz and the motorcycle to be more aerodynamic allowing for increased MPH.
This was only one of two goals Team J’Witz aspired to. They wanted to set a land-speed record as well as go over 200 mph. Land-speed records are not separated by male and female. Motorcycles are built for certain classes regardless of gender. On September 1, Perewitz took her bike to meet the next goal. She made a pass at 203.111 mph! This speed gave Perewitz recognition as the first woman in history to go over 200 mph on an American V-Twin! She will be signing free posters for fans at the Boston expo.
For those who desire their own fame and show off their bike, Cycle Source magazine is sponsoring a custom bike show. The owners and editor of the magazine will be at the expo to judge all bikes. Winners will receive coverage in the national publication.
Of course the real attraction is the motorcycles! Vendors from near and far will show and sell their wares during these much anticipated events. Those interested in participating in the 2012 season should call 978-688-8888 for prime vendor space.
