Our resident road warrior has earned his stripes covering the rally circuit, from riding the Black Hills of Sturgis to cruising Main Street in Daytona Beach. Whether it's chopped, bobbed, or bored, metric to 'Merican, he rides 'em all.

Arkansas Razorback’s Bobby Petrino, head coach of the football team, made headlines earlier this week when he crashed his motorcycle while riding in the Ozarks. The plot thickened yesterday when Petrino was placed on paid administrative leave after it was revealed Petrino crashed with a young, blonde Razorback administrator on the back of his bike, a fact that he failed to mention in his press conference after the crash.

Bobby Petrino, the head coach of the Arkansas Razorback football team, made headlines earlier this week when he crashed his Harley-Davidson motorcycle riding through the Ozarks on Arkansas Hwy 16, resulting in four broken ribs, trauma to his C2 vert and a bruised ego. Petrino is known to be an avid motorcyclist, the Ozarks outside of Fayetteville are beautiful to ride through, and unfortunately he went down in a turn. It was reported as a single vehicle, single person accident, so Petrino was showered with nothing but sympathy for the most part. And he still had a job. In fact, he was getting praise from his players for his toughness when he returned to the practice field two days after his motorcycle accident  wearing a neck brace.

That all changed yesterday when he was put on paid administrative leave by Arkansas administrators after it was revealed Petrino crashed with a young blonde on back. His passenger has been identified as 25-year-old Jessica Dorell, who according to bigleadsports.com, is a 2010 Arkansas MBA graduate and former Razorback volleyball player. She also just started working with the football team after Petrino hired her on as student development coordinator. The report also says the young lady is engaged and slated to be married in June. Petrino is a married man with four kids. Sounds like Petrino’s got some ‘splaining to do, Lucy!

That explaining starts with the fact that during his Tuesday press conference, a skinned up Petrino apparently left out the fact that he was riding with a passenger. An SI.com report also states Arkansas University initially reported “no other individuals” were involved in Petrino’s accident. The fact that he had a passenger with him was disclosed in the police report, though.

Up until this point, Petrino has been sainted by Razorback fans. He helped turn the program back into a force to be reckoned with in the tough Southeastern Conference. In 2011, he guided the Razorbacks to an 11-2 record and a victory in the Cotton Bowl. Petrino signed a seven-year contract in Dec. 2010 for $3.53 million annually. According to an AP report though, his contract includes a clause that would allow the university to release him for “engaging in conduct, as solely determined by the university, which is clearly contrary to the character and responsibilities of a person occupying the position of head football coach or which negatively or adversely affects the reputation of the athletics program in any way.”

Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long reportedly has no timeline regarding the decision on Petrino’s future with the university. Seems like Petrino may have crashed more than his motorcycle on that fateful Hwy 16 turn.
