Wigan Yamaha will have a huge presence at Thundersprint 2012 and will also have motorcycle legend Steve Parrish and British Superbike Champion Tommy Hill out on the track.

Top Yamaha dealer Wigan Yamaha are coming back to the Thundersprint in 2012, which will be held in Northwich Town Centre over the weekend of May 12/13, with their biggest ever display of the latest Yamaha bikes.

Wigan Yamaha’s Rob Ocego said: “The Thundersprint is our most important promotional event of the year. Clearly, we are at the Thundersprint to preach the gospel about Yamaha, and our dealership, but the Thundersprint is a wonderful social event where we can meet our past, current – and, hopefully, future customers – in a relaxed atmosphere.

“It is also a great opportunity to work with Yamaha’s top riders. At past Thundersprints we have had James Toseland and Cal Crutchlow racing our bikes and preparing these machines for world class riders gives our workshop staff a real buzz.

“This year, we will have two of our bikes out on the track, and leading the Thundersprint Cavalcade, in the hands of British Superbike Champion, Tommy Hill and motorcycling legend Steve Parrish.

“When they’re not entertaining the crowds, Tommy and Steve will be at our Yamaha display centre – chatting about the Yamaha range and making sure that fans have plenty of free Yamaha goodies to take away.”

Steve Parrish said: “I love being at the Thundersprint – it really is a Grand Prix in a car park – and I have a great time for the whole weekend. But one of the highlights is knowing that Wigan Yamaha will provide me with a beautifully prepared R1 Superbike to ride.”
Thundersprint organiser, Frank Melling said: “We are really pleased to have Wigan Yamaha join us at the Thundersprint. Their professionalism and enthusiasm is a great asset to the event and I know that Wigan Yamaha are held in the highest regard not only by us but also by riders like James Toseland, Cal Crutchlow and Steve Parrish – all of whom have raced on their superbly prepared bikes.”
