Vicki Golden took her second consecutive gold after winning Women’t Moto X Racing on Saturday.

Vicki Golden can run with the big guns in Women’s Motocross, and then some. Golden took her second consecutive X Games gold in Women’s Moto X over some of the top riders in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship Series. Tarah Gieger, a consistent podium finisher in WMX, took the silver followed by Livia Lancelot with the bronze. Meghan Rutledge missed the podium by two and a half seconds in fourth and Jessica Patterson followed nearly six seconds behind in fifth.
Golden came out of the starting gates and took the early lead which she maintained until whipping her bike across the finish.
“The start was very tricky off the wood,” Golden said. “I have to credit my time racing Arenacross against the boys with giving me my edge on this tight X Games course.”
Gieger and Lancelot battled it out for second toward the end of the contest, trading position once LL made it up to third half-way through the race. Gieger countered though and managed to cross the finish with the silver.
Gieger, one of the most decorated riders in the Women’s X Games, had nothing but praise for Golden and her second gold medal. “I have lots of respect for Vicki and a second against her is as good as a gold. I look forward to X Games every year and it’s one of my favorite events.”
