The 2012 Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship Presented by Amsoil kicked-off Monday at Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch with the only day of practice before the motos start on Tuesday. Make sure to check out the video recap of all the action at Loretta Lynn’s Day 1.

The 2012 Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship Presented by Amsoil is underway. MotoUSA has teamed with our friends at MX Sports Center to bring you in-depth video coverage of the week-long event at Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch. Monday morning riders began practice sessions in the mud after heavy rains early in the day, but by afternoon additional sand had been put down and track conditions improved immensely. Riders of all classes get just one day of practice, otherwise they have only the parade lap to get their bearings on track before their respective races.

There are sure to be some great battles in many of the classes as a number of riders are on the verge of their pro debuts; Dillan Epstien of the A-Class and Dakota Alix of B-Class among just some of them. Kevin Windham’s youngest teammate, Zach Bell, is expected to make his inaugural pro run later this year and has returned to Loretta’s to see if he can score another amateur title for the GEICO Honda squad. Another 2011 champion, Vann Martin, has also returned to the action at Hurricane Hills. The SuperMini class is packed this year with Team Green riders. Adam Cianciarulo is the headliner but he has fellow KX riders Mark Worth and Mitchell Harrison looking to steal his thunder.

Legendary Supercross and motocross rider Ricky Carmichael is also back to contest Loretta Lynn’s, his first time since 1996. He took it easy through practice as he waded through the rest of the Vet riders, unable to get any hard laps. The GOAT will face off against Robbie Reynard challenging in the same division (+25), there’s sure to be a bump in speed come race day. Other speedy Vet riders include Doug Dubach and Destry Abbott.

Every rider will be pinning the throttle in a bid for the Motorcycle-Superstore.com Holeshot Award. Getting out front in each moto is the best way to improve their chances of an overall title. Stay tuned for updates and fresh videos covering all the action at the Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s.
