Alpinestars has released the latest version of the Tech 8 dirt bike boots in addition to a variety of new protective gear for the Fall 2012 line of off-road gear.

The Tech 8 Light Boot has received some refinements for 2012 despite being introduced last year. The sole has been increased by 3mm for added durability while some innovative design tricks have resulted in a 15% weight reduction from the previous version. A revised closure system features four new self-aligning quick release aluminum buckles with memory adjustment for precise closure. An inner ankle sleeve constructed from leather acts like a booty but incorporates a much smaller profile compared that of a regular Tech 8 or Tech 10 boot. One standout feature of the Tech 8 Light is the new ergonomic ankle construction, which A-Stars is billing as “no break-in required” before they are considered comfortable for long riding adventures. New colors available for 2012 include white/orange, red/white/blue, and red/white/fluorescent. The Tech 8 Light is available for $459.95.
A new Tech 3 Boot has been introduced for the Fall collection. Priced at $239.95 the affordable entry level boot provides superior protection, fully complying with CE-certification standards. The inner side of the Tech 3 is covered by thick stamped suede for increased grip and heat resistance. Rigidity is provided by a dual rubber outsole which also features a uniquely

designed side wrap providing durability. The Tech 3 boot is appropriate for all levels of motocross racing and off-road riding.

In the protection department this year Alpinestars has added the Vapor Elbow and Vapor Knee protectors to the line-up. The Vapor line is an advanced version of standard knee and elbow guards. Fully CE-certified, the protectors are constructed of vented material allowing them to be lightweight and breathable. The Vapor elbow and knee protectors are designed to contour the skin closely giving for a sleek profile beneath a rider’s motocross or off-road gear. The elbow protectors feature a cross-lacing system using elastic cords to provide a highly customized fit. Knee protectors use a two strap closure with one strap above the knee and one below to optimize the contoured fit. Vapor elbow and knee protectors can be purchased for $39.95 and are available now. Available sizes are S-XL as well as Youth Vapor Elbow sizes.

Alpinestars has added two new pairs of shoes to its casual line this Fall. The Montreal Shoe is a European type shoe with a low profile featuring distinctive F1 driving shoe styling to create sophisticated casual footwear. A-Stars goal with the $109.95
