Kurt Caselli is back in the series and on his way to victory at the Panaca Hare and Hound in Nevada.
Factory FMF/KTM’s Kurt Caselli returned to his winning ways in the AMA National Hare & Hound Series during Round 8 in Panaca, Nevada. Caselli missed two rounds due to injury following a crash in Round 5. Kawasaki rider Jacob Argubright took second at Panaca with current points leader David Pearson rounding out the podium.
Caselli was on a four-race win streak and looked to be untouchable until the incident in Jerico, Utah where he sustained a third-degree collarbone AC separation. Since then, Pearson has gained the upper hand in the series and leads by 13.
Coming off the start, Caselli took the holeshot and avoided the massive amounts of dust that was kicked up by riders behind. The advantage helped him to lead the entire 100 mile course, coming in at the finish over a minute ahead of Argubright.
“It feels really good to come back to the series and take the win,” said Caselli. “My bike ran perfectly the whole race and I had no issues. My shoulder and my knee felt good and I feel like I am back to top form. I am still a few points back in the series but I know with a couple rounds left that the championship is still within reach, and that is definitely the end goal.”
