BMW continued to hit big sales numbers in September 2012 with the F800GS coming in as a top seller in the US.
BMW Motorrad continued to post big retail sales numbers through the month of September, improving on the already best-ever sales records set in August. For September, BMW reports that it provided 9,215 units to dealers, which is a 1,815 unit bump from the numbers posted in August and a 603 unit improvement on the previous year’s figures.
BMW subsidiary, Husqvarna Motorcycles, also had a big month, supplying 1,255 units. That’s 883 more than it distributed in August, though it does fall short of the 1,351 units delivered in Setember 2011, marking a 7.1% decline.
BMW Motorrad is slightly down in terms of year-to-date sales and it’s currently hovering at a 1.1% deficit compared to the January through September figures in 2011. Husqvarna, on the other hand, continues to enjoy somewhat substantial growth, up 21% in the YTD numbers as compared to last year.

Stateside, BMW Motorrad USA reports sales of 790 motorcycles in September, an increase of 6% from 2011’s figures for the month. They are up 14.7% for the year in the US, with sales currently at 9,497 compared to the 8,280 sold at this time last year. The F800GS was one of the best performing models for the month, spiking 102.2% to 89 units sold while the S1000RR also remained popular, with 128 units sold, a 23.1% increase from 2011.
