Taddy Blazusiak took his third win of the season in Denver.
Taddy Blazusiak was uncatchable once he took the lead in Denver during the EnduroCross main event.

Red Bull KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak won Round 5 of the 2012 AMA EnduroCross Series in Denver, Colorado ahead of Monster Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert in second and Factory FMF/KTM’s Mike Brown in third. Blazusiak was the pace-setter for most of the day, putting in the top time during the MVP Racing Hot Lap, going on to win his heat race and ultimately notching the victory in the main event by a wide margin over Robert.

Brown came out in the main event and took the holeshot, with Robert and Beta’s Cody Webb following behind in second and third respectively. Blazusiak ran in fourth for a brief period, but by Turn 4 he had worked his way up to second past Webb and Robert and was quickly closing in on Brown. Before the end of Lap 1, Blazusiak had taken the front from Brown and he remained there for the rest of the contest.

Robert was on the move as well and he had moved into second by the time Blazusiak gained the lead. The Kawasaki rider kept pace with Blazusiak for the following four laps, but then ran into trouble in the Matrix section of the track where he went down. Brown and Webb moved past, leaving Robert in fourth for the next few laps until Brown encountered trouble of his own, giving Robert a line to third. Webb then crashed and struggled to get his bike to re-start, allowing Robert to move back into the number two spot. He and Brown remained close through to the final lap, trading positions a number of times before the checkers.

The win marks Blazusiak’s third so far this season and extended his points advantage to 31 over Robert. Brown trails a further two points back in third overall while Webb sits fourth, three points behind Brown. There are three rounds remaining in the season and the next takes riders to Everett, Washington on October 20, 2012.

Mike Brown finished third in Denver.
