Kurt Caselli (above) and David Pearson (below) will face-off in the final round of the 2012 AMA/Kenda National Hare & Hound Series to decide this year’s title winner.

In just 2 days, Round 10 of the AMA/Kenda National Hare & Hound Championship Series will take place in the Southern California desert at Johnson Valley OHVA (North Anderson off Camp Rock Rd). This final round, hosted by District 37’s 100’s MC, will decide the overall Champion for 2012.

The host club has marked 80 miles of fun and challenging terrain for this Sunday’s event. There will be two parts to Loop 1. Racers will race the first 20 miles, come through the main pit, and then will continue on for another 20 miles. We have been hearing it will have lots of twists and turns to keep you on your toes! Loop 2 will total 40 miles long with more challenges and more turns, washes, uphills and downhills. It will be a good time for all!

Many 2012 Champions have already been crowned in the twenty-six AMA National classes. All of the winners and podium finishers will be recognized at this Sunday’s event on the podium in all three AMA recognized skill levels; A, B & C. Please stop by for an interview and to take some photos with your family and pit crew members! Congrats to ALL the racers in 2012.

With only 8 points separating the top two Pro riders, THR Motorsports’ David Pearson and FMF/KTM’s Kurt Caselli, the battle for the championship comes down to the wire. For Pearson to win the championship, he must place second or higher. For Caselli to win the championship, he must win the race and Pearson would have to place third. We want to wish both of these desert veterans an awesome and safe race all the way to the checkered flag. Good luck gentlemen!

Currently sitting in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th spots overall are all members of the Purvines Racing Team. Justin Morrow had a great run at the podium in Round 9, but after losing the ribbon towards the end of the race, he and teammate, Nick Burson, would battle to the end with Burson coming out on top for the 3rd Place Overall finish and his first podium finish in this series. Morrow, Burson and Jake Argubright have all excelled this year and have all finished on the podium in 2012. Morrow and Burson are only 8 points apart for the 3rd place overall podium position. With a few setbacks this year for Argubright, he currently sits in the 5th overall spot, although he has pushed himself more than ever this year with some great finishes and a 2nd Overall at Round 8 on his Purvines Racing KX450F.

The NHHA would like to congratulate and thank the entire Purvines Racing Team for having a great 2012 season, with many of their riders winning championships in their respective classes, and for helping sponsor so many great, young riders. Congrats to your team! 2013 is going to be awesome.
