Ryan Villopoto scored his second consecutive win after an outstanding victory at Round 4 of the Monster Energy Supercross series in Oakland, California. After securing the Nuclear Cowboyz holeshot, the Kawasaki rider set his sights on the finish line to earn his second win of the season. The Oakland victory helped move RV into third place in the 450 points battle just a single point behind Honda’s Trey Canard.

“The points race is what we are going after, and winning the holeshot gives you a great advantage,” said Villopoto. “We made some changes to the bike today that I think really helped us out there tonight, so hats off to my team. It is a long season, and we are going to keep plugging away.”

Runner up in the 450 main event was Rockstar Racing’s Davi Milsaps. After passing Justin Brayton on Lap 3, Milsaps ran a lonely second place to finish ten seconds down to Villopoto at the end of the 20-lap main race. Milsaps’ consistency will allow him to hold on to his red plates for yet another weekend as the series moves back to Anaheim for the third and final time in 2013 next weekend.

The final podium spot went to KTM’s Ryan Dungey after battling his way up front from twelfth on the opening lap. Luckily, the Minnesota rider kept clear of the first lap pile-up that collected TwoTwo Motorsports Chad Reed, Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart, and Honda’s Justin Barcia.
