Byron's sure to be hunched over a laptop after the checkers are flown, caught in his own little version of heaven. Whether on dirt, street or a combination of both, MotoUSA's newest addition knows the only thing better than actually riding is telling the story of how things went down.

Geico Honda’s Wil Hahn came away with his first victory of the season after putting in a nearly flawless performance in 250 SX in Atlanta. Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson pushed hard to challenge for the lead, but ultimately fell just short, taking second-place. Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin rounded out the podium.

“It actually went down exactly how I’ve always envisioned it,” Hahn said. “I got the holeshot, I put in the laps, and I stayed calm — that’s what it took to win.

“It’s all kind of surreal. It’s taking me some time to let this get into my head. It’s overwhelming; that’s why I took a victory lap. I wanted to squeeze every bit out of it and the crowd was going nuts. This is just a very, very satisfying feeling.”

Hahn came out quick off the start, settling into the lead in the first lap and he never looked back. Wilson was hot on the Honda rider’s heels, but fell to just over two seconds off Hahn’s pace, a gap he was unable to bridge during the 15-lap contest.

Musquin fared much better early in the race at Atlanta than he did in Texas, moving to fourth in the opening lap. The French rider got the best of Rockstar Energy Suzuki’s Blake Wharton after three laps, holding steady in third to the finish.

Wharton ended the night in fourth, followed by MyPlash’s Jeremy Martin in fifth and Wilson’s teammate, Justin Hill, in sixth. Motoconcepts’ Gavin Faith took seventh ahead of AG Motorsports’ Kyle Peters in eighth.

Wilson remains the overall front-runner in the 250 SX Eastern Regional championship, now followed by Hahn just three points back in second. Wharton slipped to third, with Musquin five points adrift in fourth.
