The second day of AMA Pro Flat Track action continued in Daytona with Pro Singles and Expert Singles facing off once again on the famed course just outside the road course at Daytona International Speedway. The packed house enjoyed plenty of bar-banging excitement throughout the day, with a full schedule of practice and qualifying sessions before the evening’s main events.

AMA Pro GNC Expert Singles

TJ Burnett Farms’ Brandon Robinson earned his first career win in GNC Expert Singles, rocketing his Kawasaki KX450F across the finish over one second ahead of second-place finisher, Brad Baker of Specialty Fabrication Incorporation. Crosley Radio’s Bryan Smith rounded out the podium an additional two seconds back.

“My entire team just worked extremely hard to make this happen for me and I can’t be more thankful for their support,” said Robinson. “We got the setup as close to perfect as possible and everything went as smooth as we could have asked for all night. I got out front early in the main event, put in a hard 25 laps and it all paid off. My team and I have had an awesome week in general and it feels incredible to win here.”

Robinson got to the front early and held the bike steady through 25 laps, getting ahead of Chaplin Kawasaki’s Kenny Coolbeth the opening laps and fending off Baker through the remaining contest. Jake Johnson came across the finish in fourth followed by Machete Energy rider and 2013 Daytona Flat Track I winner, Mikey Rush, in fifth. Coolbeth Jr. took sixth followed by Matt Weidman in seventh.

Robinson now sits atop the Expert Singles overall leaderboard, five points ahead of Rush. Johnson is back in third with 30 points, followed by Wiles in fourth and Baker in fifth.

AMA Pro J&P Cycles Pro Singles
Allphase Masony & Chimney’s Jake Constantine took his first every professional win in the AMA Pro J&P Cycles Pro Singles contest on the second day of flat track action in Daytona. The Honda rider beat out Waters Auto Body’s Ryan Wells by over two seconds, with Jason Isonnock team backed rider Mike Poe rounding out the podium.

“I can’t even explain how I feel right now,” said an ecstatic Constantine. “To come down here and win it all is the best feeling in the world. It feels great to be on this podium, let alone be at the top of it! This win was huge for me and my team because of how bad we struggled last night in the opener. I can’t thank everyone enough for helping me out; this feeling is so surreal right now.”

No matter how hard he tried, Wells just couldn’t find a way past Constantine during the Pro Singles race, but leaves Daytona pleased with his improvement over the two days.

“The track was really hard tonight and my finish was definitely better than the sixth from last night,” Wells said. “My team did a great job this weekend, and I’d like to thank all my sponsors for helping me do what I really love: racing motorcycles.”
Kirkland Racing’s Wyatt Maguire took fourth followed by Parkinson Brothers Racing’s Stephen Vanderkuur in fifth and Weirbach Racing’s Dominic Colindres in sixth.

Constantine now leads the Pro Singles points race, sitting one point ahead of Poe and two ahead of 2013 Flat Track I winner Kyle Johnson. Wells sits fourth overall, but is mathematically tied with Johnson, and Jason Isennock rounds out the top-five.
