Byron's sure to be hunched over a laptop after the checkers are flown, caught in his own little version of heaven. Whether on dirt, street or a combination of both, MotoUSA's newest addition knows the only thing better than actually riding is telling the story of how things went down.

Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin found his way to the top-step for the third consecutive 250SX East race, beating out Geico Honda’s Wil Han by just over three seconds in Toronto. Rockstar Suzuki’s Blake Wharton rounded out the podium, 16 seconds behind Hahn.

Disaster struck in the opening lap for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Justin Hill. The Kawasaki rider went down hard in the first turns and got battered by the passing riders. High octane Harley-Davidson’s James Decotis also went down in the opening laps, falling out of the runner-up spot in the process. There were no red flags for the early incidents and Musquin quickly moved to the front, where he proceeded to build a gap on the field until the checkers.

“The track was very tough and slippery today. I had a crash earlier in the day and felt horrible going into the main but my Red Bull KTM team helped motivate me and I was able to pull it off. My holeshot helped a lot and I am happy to get my third win in a row,” said Musquin.

Behind, Hahn and Wharton were in close battle for the upper-hand, which the Honda rider gained mid-race. Wharton held close for a period, but lost a substantial amount of ground through the latter half of the race. Despite his second-place finish, Hahn knows he’ll have to step up his game to maintain the overall lead.

“It’s crazy to say this but second place doesn’t feel that great tonight,” said Hahn. “I need wins. I need to get back to riding like I did in Atlanta and St. Louis (both wins). I can’t have starts like I did tonight and expect to win the championship. I need to do better.

“The championship battle between me and Marvin is going to come down to the wire, it looks like. I’m really happy we’re going back to Texas, my home state, and it’s cool we have a weekend off for Easter because that gives me another week to get my head straight and remind myself what got me the red plate in the first place. You’re going to see a different rider in Texas.”

MyPlash’s Jeremy Martin passed into fourth-place late in the contest, getting past Slaton’s Vince Friese, who finished in fifth. AXTour’s Cole Thompson ended the night in sixth, with Decotis following in seventh and Motoconcepts’ Gavin Faith in eighth.
Hahn was able to hold the overall points lead, staying six points ahead of Musquin. Wharton is 20 points adrift of the French rider in third, while Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson holds to fourth, though there’s still no word on whether he will be able to return to competition following his gnarly wreck at Indy, where be sustained a broken rib and punctured lung.
