Motorcycle USA media partner, Cycle News, tracks Sammy Halbert’s return to AMA Pro Flat Track presented by J&P Cycles action at the Stockton Half-Mile in the May 14, 2013 issue, available now. Halbert missed the 2013 season opener at Daytona while recovering from knee surgery, but showed he hadn’t missed a beat in the inaugural event in Stockton, taking the holeshot and win in the GNC Expert Twins class. Elsewhere in California, the Red Bull X-Fighters made their U.S. Tour stop at Glen Helen Raceway, only to be frustrated by winds that remained constant throughout the weekend. In Kentucky, Thad DuVall charged through treacherous conditions as well, earning the GNCC Round 5 XC1 Pro win in a veritable mud-pit. Kurt Caselli took his fourth consecutive AMA Hare & Hound Championship Series win in Utah and in Primm, Nevada, Timmy Weigand extended his win streak in the AMA District 37 Big 6 Grand Prix Series. Cycle News hops on the KTM 390 Duke for a first ride and then sits down with NPR radio host, Peter Sagal, to find out more about one of his first journalism jobs with Cycle in the ‘80’s. All this and more can be found in Cycle News Volume 50, Issue 19 available in digital edition by following the link below.
