“It was just an awesome race,” said Halbert. “Coming off my knee surgery, it’s been a long road of rehab. I’m still not quite 100% healthy but my bike certainly was 100% perfect tonight. I want to say thanks to the California crowd who came out and supported me. It’s always fun racing in this state. My team and I really got a good win here and it’s definitely something to build off of.”
Halbert missed out on the 2013 season opener in Daytona, but looked as if he hadn’t missed a day in the main event at the Stockton Half-Mile. He ran off with the holeshot and settled into the early lead, but Baker was right behind, challenging hard for the advantage. The two fought it out through nearly the entire race, but Halbert was able to begin stretching a small gap on Baker 20 laps into competition.
Zanotti Racing’s Jake Johnson fished the night in fourth, followed by Weirbach Racing’s Robert Pearson in fifth. TJ Burnett’s Brandon Robinson took sixth ahead of Harley-Davidson’s Kenny Coolbeth Jr. in seventh.
Robinson maintains the lead in overall combined points ahead of Baker, in second. Wiles is third followed by Johnson in fourth.

Kirkland Racing’s Wyatt Maguire earned his first career main event win in Stockton, beating Crosley Radio’s Shayna Texter by over four seconds. DAO Apparel’s Kyle Johnson took the final step on the podium an additional 1.9 seconds back. Maguire ran out front early, getting ahead of Texter in the early laps and he never looked back.
“It was definitely tough getting through the field but we ended up changing gears and it helped a lot,” said Maguire. “It feels incredible to pull off my first ever victory here in Stockton. I need to thank my family and all of my sponsors, without them I would never have the opportunity to experience something like this. I also want to thank the crowd for coming out; it’s truly a pleasure racing so close to my hometown.”
GP Sports’ Rodney Spencer Jr. grabbed fourth followed by AXO Sport’s Cole Frederickson in fifth. Hunger Mfg’s Hunter Taylor ended in sixth followed by Rod Lake’s Bronson Bauman in seventh.
Thanks to Johnson’s break-out win in Daytona and his podium finish in Stockton, he remains the overall Pro Singles points leader, though is now mathematically tied with Maguire. Waters Auto Body’s Ryan Wells sits third followed by Spencer Jr. in fourth.
