Ryan Villopoto made a surprise visit to the Kawasaki manufacturing plant in Lincoln, Nebraska during some down time between races.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto made a surprise visit to the Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., U.S.A. plant in Lincoln, Neb., on Tuesday as part of Kawasaki’s 2013 Business Management meeting. Villopoto is in the middle of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship where he holds a 16 point lead in the standings.
Villopoto’s visit to Lincoln was a surprise to the more than 1,300 employees who were at the event and the three-time defending Monster Energy Supercross champion was greeted with a standing ovation before thanking all of the employees for their support.
“I’ve raced for Monster Energy Kawasaki for a long time now,” said Villopoto. “And all of the success I’ve achieved comes from everyone who works at Kawasaki. Our team gets tremendous support from all of the employees and it is fun to come see the work they are doing.”
After his brief stint on stage, Villopoto toured the massive manufacturing facility that produces Kawasaki Jet Ski, Mule and Teryx models, along with rail cars. Seeing some heavy equipment in action, Villopoto was impressed by the team spirit that resonated throughout the facility. Following the tour Villopoto sat down for an autograph session for the employees and their families.
After a weekend off, Villopoto and the Monster Energy Kawasaki team will head to Maryland for the Budds Creek National on Saturday, June 22.
