Fans attending the opening day of the Triumph Superbike Classic presented by America’s First Federal Credit Union at Barber Motorsports Park will be given the chance to walk the picturesque track with the stars of the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing Series.

The track walk will be free to all Friday, June 21 ticket holders and ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive promoter at the Barber Motorsports Park, will donate a portion of the day’s ticket sales to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

“We are grateful to ZOOM Motorsports and America’s First Federal Credit Union for their support of our local JDRF chapter and the many families across our state affected by type 1 diabetes,” said Aubrey Miller, Executive Director of the JDRF Alabama Chapter. “The monies generated from The Triumph Superbike Classic Friday ticket sales will help us advance our mission to fund research to cure, treat, and prevent this disease that affects nearly 3 million Americans.”

More than 20 riders have committed to participate in the track walk including National Guard SuperBike rider Roger Hayden, SuperBike riders Larry Pegram and Chris Fillmore, and former Daytona 200 winners and Triumph riders Jason DiSalvo and Joey Pascarella. Also expected to walk are Triumph riders Elena Myers, Kenny Riedmann and Bobby Fong.

“This is such a fun opportunity for the fans,” said Rick Humphrey, Vice President of ZOOM Motorsports. “The one thing that is recurrent in all types of racing is the connection that the competitors have with their fans. Our track walks in the past have been such great experiences for the riders and the fans that we want to continue this tradition and make it bigger every year. The idea to include JDRF this year was brought to our attention by our friends at America’s First. We are very excited that we are able to help the JDRF by donating a portion of our ticket sales that day.”

The Triumph Superbike Classic is the third round of competition for the AMA Pro Road Racing Series and will feature seven races over the 3-day weekend.

In addition to the two marquee National Guard Superbike Series, the weekend will feature two races in the GoPro Daytona SportBike class, Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport class and one race in the Vance & Hines XR1200 Series.
