The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for model year Honda’s 2014 model year CTX700 motorcycles manufactured from March 6, 2013 through April 11, 2013. Certain units, potentially 235 in all, may have a malfunctioning Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) that could potentially cause anti-lock to lose functionality. The potential consequences are wheel lock-up and skidding that could increase the risk of a crash.
Honda will notify dealers and owners and will replace the ABS modulator for free. The recall is anticipated to begin July 30, 2013. Owners can contact Honda directly at 1-800-999-1009 for more information. Honda’s recall number is JB0.
Owners may also contact the NHTSA’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or go to www.safecar.gov. The NHTSA campaign id number is 13V307000.
