Icon 1000 Roughshod Pants

Icon Roughshod pants
Icon 1000 Roughshod Pants.

Cut from high-grade, 1.3mm-thick Brazilian cowhide, reinforced with D3O knee armor, with double-stitched back pockets and triple-stitching in the leg seams, the Icon 1000 Roughshod Pants are built to battle the elements. These are some of the best leather riding pants out there. The leather is super supple yet durable, they’re all-day comfortable, and have the cut and look of a good pair of jeans. A damn fine looking pair of jeans at that. Our Roughshods have survived the ride out to Sturgis, an unexpected summer squall, and most recently a road trip to Galveston where we lived in them for three out of four days. Leather’s still soft and they’re taking on more character all the time. – Bryan Harley

Icon Hooligan Denim Pants

Icon Hooligan Pant
Icon Hooligan Denim Pants.

Everyday riding jeans are ideal for commutes or leisurely rides, and I’ve enjoyed both in the Icon Hooligan Denim Pant. The heavy-duty denim construction feels sturdy enough, with the synthetic Aramid reinforcement at the knees aiding abrasion resistance. The Hooligan also offers CE-certified armor inserts at the knees, which are easily removed via zippered opening – so riders can ditch the bulky look at their destination. And the Icon threads do cut some handsome lines, but Hipsters beware – this ain’t a skinny jean by any means and feels far looser in the leg than Icon’s Strongarm 2 denim pant. The Hooligan jeans also run long, which ensures ideal comfort in a sportbike riding stance. The deep pockets complement riding ergos too, keeping wallet, keys and other knickknacks from worrying their way out on the road. My only complaint is the knee armor inserts feel awkward when walking around off the bike, but it’s a minor inconvenience for the added protection. – Bart Madson
