BMW Motorrad recorded continued growth through November 2013. Worldwide the German marque sold 7342 units for the month, marking an 8.8% increase over the same period in 2012. Year-to-date sales figures now total 108,872 units, 8.6% more than the same point last year.

Sales in the USA are up as well with 821 units sold in November, 5.7% higher than the same month in 2012. F-series middleweight motorcycles made up a bulk of the month’s sales, with 187 deliveries made in November. The water-cooled Boxer-powered R1200GS also maintained high sales with 165 units sold for the month. Year-to-date figures stand at 13,078 units sold through November 2013, a 17.4% increase over the YTD numbers in 2012.

Heiner Faust, Head of Sales and Marketing for BMW Motorrad offered these remarks about the record-setting results: “We have surpassed our sales figure for the previous year one month before the end of the year, supplying more than 108,000 vehicles to our customers worldwide. This excellent result has been made possible by healthy sales in the USA and Asia and – despite difficult market conditions – in the European markets, too.

“The level of incoming orders in November was significantly higher than that of the previous year. New BMW Motorrad products presented by us a few weeks ago at the EICMA are already in popular demand. We have expanded our product portfolio with two new products in the roadster segment, the BMW R nineT and the S1000R. The successors to the volume models R1200RT and R1200GS Adventure will also go on the market next spring. As does the new BMW K 1600 GTL Exclusive with six-cylinder power and highly impressive specification.

“We also enter the market for single-track electromobility next year with the innovative maxi scooter BMW C evolution.
“Demand for the water-cooled BMW R1200GS remains at a pleasingly high level. We have already sold over 25,000 of them to customers worldwide as of November.”
