Provisional 2014 MotoGP Calendar Announced

December 13, 2013

By Byron Wilson

The FIM has announced a revised calendar for the 2014 MotoGP World Championship which includes some slight changes from the provisional list released in early October 2013. The main changes include confirmation of the fourth round at Jerez, which was previously subject to contract and a shuffle in the three flyaway rounds late in the season. In the first iteration, Sepang led off the three-round series in October 2014, followed by Motegi and Phillip Island. Now Motegi is first followed by Phillip Island and Sepang. The new Brazilian round remains subject to homologation and a plan to rebuild the circuit is currently set to begin December 2013. The FIM will visit the circuit in late spring 2014 after construction is scheduled to be complete to finalize homologation.
