Byron's sure to be hunched over a laptop after the checkers are flown, caught in his own little version of heaven. Whether on dirt, street or a combination of both, MotoUSA's newest addition knows the only thing better than actually riding is telling the story of how things went down.

Rockstar Energy KTM’s Jason Anderson passed Troy Lee Designs’ Cole Seely on the final lap for the 250 SX race win in Phoenix. Anderson’s last lap heroics were a virtual replay of the Anaheim season opener. Phoenix also saw a repeat of the third-place finisher, as GEICO Honda’s Zach Osborne rounded out the podium.

Yamaha’s Cooper Webb took the holeshot in the 250 main, but Seely was quick to move past for the lead. Anderson got past Webb as well for third-place. Webb’s troubles continued thanks to a tricky sand section and he dropped back to fifth, leaving Seely and Anderson alone out front to battle for the top-spot while Troy Lee Designs’ Shane McElrath tried to hold third against Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson.

With nine laps remaining Wilson made his move into third-place ahead of McElrath while Seely attempted to stretch a lead on the field. Webb and McElrath got into a tough battle for fourth-place soon after and both riders went down, opening the door for Osborne to move quickly into striking distance of podium position.

Seely continued to lead as the race reached its final stages, but Anderson was close behind and appeared to be reeling the Honda rider in during the later laps. Anderson made a slight mistake with three laps to go, giving Seely a bit of breathing room, but the KTM ace was quickly back on the throttle. Seely led entering the final lap, but then he too made a slight mistake which was just enough to allow Anderson to close the gap and make his pass for the front, a few turns from the checkers. By that time Osborne had moved ahead of Wilson for the final podium position as well.

Anderson maintains his perfect score through two rounds, while Seely trails by six points in second overall. Osborne sits third an additional four points back followed by Wilson in fourth.
