Touring amenities abound on the SuperLow 1200T, from standard saddlebags to detachable windshield. The lockable saddlebags come with mounting hardware that features quick-detach docking points and the 14-inch windshield is adjustable to suit rider height. The factory installed rear docking hardware allows for installation of an optional luggage rack and sissy bar with backrest as well.
Mid-mount rider foot controls feature mini footboards for improved comfort. The SuperLow 1200T comes with split five-spoke aluminum wheels and Michelin Scorcher 11T touring tires. A 300mm front rotor is gripped by a dual piston caliper out front and a 260mm disc with dual-piston caliper provides stopping power out back.
The SuperLow 1200T, as well as all the other 2014 Sportsters, receives an electrical system upgrade that features an analog speedometer, digital tach, updated wiring harness and voltage regulator. Riders can toggle through screen displays via a left-hand switch to get information from the odometer, tripmeter, gear indicator and RPM display.
“The SuperLow 1200T is a new motorcycle driven by the voice of our customers, and by customer action,” said Jennifer Gersch, Harley-Davidson Product Planning Manager. “Many riders seeking an entry point to the touring experience have been putting together a bike like this on their own. We’ve added ergonomic adjustments and a selection of touring accessories to a motorcycle platform that is already popular with our customers. They can tour on a great-looking motorcycle that offers performance and inspires confidence, while experiencing those life-defining moments that can only be encountered on the open road.”
The 2014 Harley-Davidson SuperLow 1200T comes in Vivid Black (MSRP $11,799), Candy Orange (MSRP $12,114) or two-tone Birch White/Midnight Pearl ($12,334). Factory installed ABS will add an extra $795 and the H-D Smart Security System prices at $395.
