Byron's sure to be hunched over a laptop after the checkers are flown, caught in his own little version of heaven. Whether on dirt, street or a combination of both, MotoUSA's newest addition knows the only thing better than actually riding is telling the story of how things went down.

Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo took his third 250 SX East win of the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season in Detroit. GEICO Honda’s Justin Bogle finished in second followed by Cianciarulo’s teammate, Blake Baggett, in third.

Pro Circuit’s Martin Davalos scored the holeshot and opened the front through the initial laps, followed by Cianciarulo, Bogle and Riverside Harley-Davidson’s James Decotis. Davalos held steady out front for the opening laps, but then lost the front end and went down, ceding two positions as Cianciarulo and Bogle moved past.

Cianciarulo led the way through the remaining laps, though faced pressure from Bogle a number of times as the Honda rider pushed for a way to the head of the pack. Davalos remained in third until a second fall sent him back to ninth-place. Decotis moved into podium position after the fall, but later suffered an off of his own which sent him back to 10th.

Baggett rebounded off a lackluster start for the final step on the podium. Smartop MotoConcepts Racing’s Kyle Cunningham also wove his way through the field to finish fourth. JAB Motorsports’ Matt Lemoine finished in fifth followed by Davalos in sixth.

Cianciarulo leaves Detroit atop the points standings, 17 points ahead of Davalos in second. Baggett sits third followed by Bogle in fourth.
