Thomas was enthusiastic about his performance, saying, “The OMA’s are my focus for 2014 and this was a good way to start off the Championship. I had a great time riding with Whibley and Baylor today – it was like being out roosting with a few mates during a fun practice session. On the last lap while leading I took the wrong line on a nasty uphill and got stuck which let both of those guys get past. Once I got going again I quickly caught and passed Stu, then caught Whibs but just ran out of time to make a pass stick on him. This is going to be an exciting Championship battle and I’m ready for it!”
“The OMA season opener had perfect conditions with soft loamy hero dirt. I got a solid start and ran second while battling with Whibs and Thomas until I stopped early for fuel. I raced with Baylor to rejoin the pack until I ran my tank dry a mile before the white flag. I pushed the bike for a while until a spectator brought me some premix. I settled for 5th and look forward to redemption at Round 2 in Kentucky.”
The next round of the OMA Nationals will take place May 3-4 in Greensburg, KY. for more details click Here.
