The nationally televised Zions Bank Utah National, featuring the world’s best motocross racers including Ryan Dungey, James Stewart, Chad Reed and Ken Roczen, will be Miller Motorsports Park’s biggest event of the year. With only one race remaining before the series returns to Utah, both the 450cc and 250cc class championships remain in contention, setting up a scramble for last-chance championship points and glory on the series’ most unique track, located in the infield of the state-of-the-art Miller Motorsports Park facility.
“We have been looking forward to this year’s Zions Bank Utah National since the teams packed up to leave after last year’s event,” said John Larson, General Manager of Miller Performance. “We received a lot of good feedback from the riders and our guests, and we have incorporated many of their suggestions to improve the experience for both.”
Based on feedback from the riders, the 1.2-mile track has been revised to make the south end of the circuit more of a loop, which will offer better race flow, more passing opportunities and shorter lap times. The track will also no longer cross the asphalt road-racing track, the start/finish line has been moved to the straightaway section on the north side of the course and a number of the jump landings have been modified to improve the track flow at the riders’ request. In addition, track preparation is ahead of schedule with the addition of more sand, rich dirt and mulch to provide an improved and consistent racing surface.
For spectators, there will be better trackside access and viewing opportunities as a result of the work done to the south end of the circuit and the relocation of the start/finish line. In addition, sales points for concessions and beverages have been more than doubled.
It will be an action-packed weekend, with the inaugural Rockwell Watches Amateur Motocross Showdown scheduled for Friday, August 22, and the track’s annual visit from the exciting Ultra4 American Rock Sports Challenge off-road racing series also taking place on the Saturday.
General Admission tickets for the Zions Bank Utah National are priced at $40 for adults and $20 for kids aged 6-11. Kids aged 5 and under will be admitted free of charge. Pit passes, which provide access to the teams’ pit areas between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., are priced at $20. Parking will be $10. There are a variety of VIP and camping options as well.
