First introduced in 1975, Honda’s Gold Wing gets the Anniversary Edition treatment for its big 4-0 in 2015. This includes a handful of 40th Anniversary emblems and embellishments found on places like the passenger backrest, dash, key, glove box and more. New color options are also available, including a two-tone Candy Red and Black and a Light Silver Metallic along with the returning Black. The Wing still powered by its hulking 1832cc Flat Six and comes with all the touring accommodations that the Gold Wing faithful have come to expect. Four packages will be offered in 2015, starting at $23,999 for the base model up to $30,599 for the fully-loaded version which comes with satellite-linked navigation, XM Radio, linked ABS and an airbag. Expect to see the new Gold Wings on dealer floors by October 2014.
“For 2015 we are proud to be celebrating 40 years of the Gold Wing. This model means so much to our company and our customers,” said Lee Edmunds, Manager of Motorcycle Marketing Communications at American Honda. “When this model was introduced in 1975 it revolutionized what touring in America could be. It was our customers’ passion for adventure and traveling the open road that really defined the Gold Wing and how it is used today.”
The F6B iteration of the Gold Wing platform gets cruise control for the coming model year, along with a new black exhaust. Updated colorways include a Matte Silver or Blue Metallic option.
The 1312cc V-Twin-powered Interstate remains unchanged mechanically for 2015, but comes with a new Black with black frame color choice that features silver wheels and chrome accents.
The Fury is also unchanged from the previous year except for new accents on the frame and wheels. There’s a Candy Red colorway with black wheels and a Black with Grey frame which comes with Bronze colored wheels.
The Shadow Aero and Shadow Phantom return to the fold as well, both of which get updated colors. The Aero is shod in a Candy Red option while the Phantom will be available in a new Light Silver Metallic as well as Black.
Finally, the XR650L dual sport is back, coming into 2015 without any significant updates. Pricing for the F6B, Interstate, Fury, Shadow Aero and Phantom as well as the XR650L is TBD.
