Suzuki has announced a few changes for its 2015 GSX-R1000. First and foremost, the updated liter-bike gets an ABS system, designed specifically for the model. The next update is in the looks department, the 2015 Gixxer getting MotoGP-inspired bodywork and graphics. Beyond that, Suzuki has left its popular superbike untouched.

Suzuki press indicates that the new Anti-Lock Brake system is based on existing Suzuki technology, but specially built for the GSX-R1000. The front twin disc, Brembo calipers set-up remain braking kit at the front while a Nissin caliper bites the disc at the back. The new unit adds four additional pounds to the machine, resulting in a claimed 452-pound curb weight.

The ABS edition will only be available in Suzuki’s racing coloway, which the company calls Metallic Triton Blue. For the non-ABS 2015 GSX-R1000, riders can choose from Metallic Triton Blue or Pearl Mira Red/Metallic Matte Black.

MSRP for the 2015 GSX-R1000 ABS is $14,399 while the non-ABS version will cost $13,899.
