Garwood Custom Cycles (GCC) customized a Honda Grom for the Autism Speaks, Carolina Chapter, organization. The custom bike currently is being raffled off with 100% of the proceeds to benefit the organization.
The Grom is one of Honda’s most popular motorcycles, and the crew at GCC created a show-stopping custom. It features a custom paint treatment from Team Neyon of GCC that integrates the baby-blue and artic-white colors with the Autism Speaks’ logo as the central theme of the design.
Components and upgrades include a Brocks Alien Head exhaust, C&S Customs’ 140 tire kit, one-off custom wheels, belly pan and custom seat.
“Our company founder, David Garwood, annually selects a charity to work with, and since he just adopted two twin boys, he decided to work with a children’s charity,” explained Steve Garwood, VP of Operations. “Autism is the second most prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder among children and has become a national epidemic.”
Autism statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identify around 1 in 68 American children as on the autism spectrum-a ten-fold increase in prevalence in 40 years. Studies also show that autism is four to five times more common among boys than girls. An estimated 1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls are diagnosed with autism in the United States.
Autism Speaks’ Grom raffle tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25. Call 336-249-8289 to purchase 3 for $25.00, or log on to the Garwood site at goo.gl/nwlhnh. This bike is on display at Garwood Custom Cycles’ showroom located at 441 Pine Top Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
The drawing will be held at Walk Now For Autism Speaks on October 17,2015, zMax Dragway, Concord, NC.
