Atlantic Metals Group Plans to Reopen EBR

Byron Wilson | August 10, 2015

Last week we reported the remaining assets of Erik Buell Racing were sold to Atlantic Metals Group LLC. Now the CEO of Atlantic Metals Group, Bruce Belfer, has indicated his plans for EBR. Milwaukee Business Journal reporter Sean Ryan interviewed Belfer soon after the sale was announced, and the good news for fans of EBR is that Belfer plans to “get the business back up and running.”

Erik Buell will remain President of EBR, according to the MBJ report, and Belfer will be CEO. There is a strong likelihood that many of the previous employees will be rehired and that operations will continue in East Troy, Wisconsin.

Particular details, such as when motorcycle production might resume, are still unclear. Belfer was motivated, according to the MBJ interview, by his love of motorcycles and a desire to keep manufacturing alive in the United States.
