Yamaha has released details of its 2016 supersport touring FJR1300A and FJR1300ES models, with transmission and instrumentation updates heading the short list of new amenities.
Both the A and ES models come with a new six-speed transmission and an Assist & Slipper Clutch for 2016. The instrumentation panel was updated and the “twin-eye” headlight/taillight were changed to include LED lighting throughout. The ES also comes with LED cornering lights, to better illuminate the road ahead through the turns.
Each retains the same 1298cc Inline Four engine and swath of electronic amenities, such as ABS, cruise control, electronically adjustable windscreen, heated grips and Unified Braking System. The shaft-driven machines have 6.6 gallons of fuel capacity and 12V accessory sockets, helpful assets for the long hauls. The A model makes use of conventional forks while the ES retains the electronically adjustable front and rear suspension set-up, which allows the rider to work through a number of preload and damping settings.
Both the FJR1300A and FJR1300ES will be available in Cobalt Blue and will arrive in dealerships March 2016. Pricing for both models will be revealed in February.
