Trans AMA National Motocross Champion, eight-time National Enduro Champion and eight-time ISDE/T Gold Medalist Dick Burleson has been named Grand Marshal VIP of the 2015 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Finals in Ontario, California.
Representing everything strong about off-road racing, Burleson will be on-site for the exciting EnduroCross finale as a VIP of the series promoters. He will welcome today’s top racers into the final showdown of 2015.
In the world of off-road, Burleson’s career is nothing short of epic. His dominance in the grueling National Enduro Series throughout the mid-to-late 1970’s, where he amassed eight National Titles in a row, has proven impossible to beat. Another living legend in his own right, Mike Lafferty, is the only one to tie his eight-title mark. After 41 years since his first title in the series, his record still stands as the best.
“Having Dick Burleson host the finals as Grand Marshal is a fitting end to an incredible season of EnduroCross racing,” said Lance Bryson, Sales and Marketing Manager for EnduroCross. “His past career as a professional racer, and current passion for the sport of off-road in his active role at long time series sponsor Moose Racing, make him a perfect fit for EnduroCross. A hard-core guy representing the hardest-core off-road race sounds perfect to us!”
“I’m honored to be the Grand Marshal of the 2014 EnduroCross finals,” Burleson said. “As an avid and active off-road rider and racer, I believe EnduroCross is one of the most unique and exciting forms of racing in the world. It combines everything hard about off-road racing in a sprint-style, indoor format. The talent the top guys have out there is unbelievable. And with so much going on in a small area, its no wonder the racing action is so great. I can’t wait to see the championship decided in California.”
As a racer, Burleson was legendary, and he continues to influence the sport in his professional career as a Developmental Engineer at Moose Racing. His attendance at the final round will certainly make the 2015 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Finale special.
