Ox Motorsports/MSR riders dominated the Baja 1000 race.

Ox Motorsports/MSR team riders Mark Samuels, Colton Udall and Justin Jones continued MSR’s legendary tradition by winning the 48th Edition of the SCORE Baja 1000 this year. Ride along as the trio put their Honda CRF450X on the top of the podium. From the pre-dawn start to the final checkered flag and popping the corks on the champagne, their historic win has been documented in a new video short.

“For sure you will see me at the finish,” says Samuels somewhat prophetically at the start. “Hopefully we will all be in one-piece and we execute the plan perfectly.” After a loss last year the team was back in Baja with some things to prove… and the cameras captured the highlight in a cool 4 1/2 minute video recap. The team does indeed execute the plan, winning the overall and unlimited motorcycle class for the third time in the past four years. They also gave Honda its 25th overall SCORE Baja 1000 win in 48 tries!

“I started ninth off the line and just kept pushing away,” said lead rider Colton Udall. Despite drawing a start from the back of the pack, the 5x Honda set a blistering pace and began picking off competition almost immediately. A combination of onboard cameras and some spectacular aerial footage captures the highlights of the team’s 16:29:08 race.

“With an average speed of 49.82 mph, you can experience the fact that they were flying,” says MSR Brand Manager Brent Harden. “If you have never raced Baja for yourself, this will give you a look at what you are missing!” Of course Baja is a big deal to the MSR brand, going back to when Malcolm Smith won the very first Baja 1000 48 years ago.

“It was amazing,” exclaims Colton Udall. “You’ve got all this footage of me being a dork and now I’m super excited because we’re at the finish line of the 2015 Baja 1000 in first place!”
