10 Entertainment is excited to announce the first annual Mark “Tex” Adams Memorial TT Mayhem. The Mark Tex Adams Memorial TT Mayhem will feature amateur & pro classes racing on a newly built TT track by AMA Pro Flat Track national number 10, Johnny Lewis. The event will be held at Marion County Speedway in Ocala, Florida on Sunday January 17th and joined by Southern Dirt Track Association (SDTA- Florida’s premier amateur flat track racing championship series). Saturday January 16th SDTA will host their 2016 season opener on the Marion County Speedway’s 1/4 mile short track, this event will kick off their 12 race championship series.

Former Factory KTM/Joe Gibbs Racing/Nitro Circus mechanic Mark “TEX” Adams passed away January 26th, 2012. “Tex”, as many called him, was also Johnny Lewis’ first Factory KTM mechanic prior to his 2005 pro debut in the AMA Pro Supermoto Championship. Mark and Johnny actually met for the first time here in Ocala Florida where they spent a week testing at the Ocala supermoto track and also at Marion County Speedway to prepare for the 2005 season and Johnny Lewis’ professional career debut.

Johnny Lewis – owner of 10 Entertainment – decided to host the only TT race in Florida at Marion County Speedway in honor of Mark, allowing riders to compete for the number one plate in over 15 amateur and pro classes. All riders will be encouraged to return in 2017 to run the number one plate for their class win. Lewis also added one of the most challenging TT races to the event schedule which will feature a 100 lap Pro/Am Memorial race where the top 3 will win fully customized Matrix Concepts provided tool boxes. Along side Matrix Concepts numerous supporters have been signed to support this event including companies such as Mitas Tires as the official tire supporter of the event, Evans Cooling, Arai Helmets Americas, Pro Plates, Saddlemen Performance, 100 %, Ascot Motorsports, Lightshoe, Motion Pro, 10 Training and more to be announced in the coming month leading up to the event.

“I wanted to do something special for “Tex”, to honor him, and also bring back some memories of our time testing at Marion County Speedway over 10 years ago, so I figured why not a race that matched Mark’s go hard spirit, a 100 lap race. The race is 4x longer than an AMA Pro Flat Track GNC1 main event, it should come out to be about 40 minutes of all-out racing around Marion County Speedway’s new TT layout, making it one of the longest, hardest TT races I have ever done, and Mark wouldn’t want it any other way,” said Lewis.

The 100 lap memorial race can be raced solo or in a two-rider team. The event will also feature a Mini-Bike Reverse TT Buddy race, where riders will partner up for a 30 lap race on mini-bikes under 150cc 4-strokes running the normal TT layout backwards. Riders will have a mandatory rider swap any time between lap 10 and lap 20. 15 additional classes will run from 50cc youth to Vet classes as well as Supermoto, Knobbie, and ATV classes.

Following Saturday’s SDTA round 1 event, 10 Entertainment will have live entertainment for the riders, families, and fans to enjoy with country music singers performing on the TT Mayhem podium/stag into the evening. Free over night camping is also available.

Pre-entry for the TT Mayhem classes on Sunday January 17th is now open. The class with the largest pre entry will race for an all new Arai VX Pro 4 Barcia Helmet (retailed at $739.95) supplied by Arai Helmets America. Rider’s “time of entry” will determine their starting position for the heat races plus all pre-entered riders will receive an Ascot Motorsports bag with sponsor discount cards, FREE pit entry for themselves as well as one additional FREE pit pass (a $30 total value). Mark “Tex” Adams Memorial stickers will be available at the event and online, all proceeds will go to the Ethan Gillim “Chasing a Dream” Foundation started by MotoAmerica SuperSport Champion JD Beach & Hayden Gillim.
