Issue 13 of MotoUSA digital magazine is now available, featuring a head-to-head comparison between two sport touring rivals, the 2016 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the 2016 Suzuki GSX-S1000F. We put the two machines through the paces on tight, twisting mountain roads, with some freeway travel and in-town commuting to see which bike was the best all-around machine in the class.
Beyond the headlining feature, first rides abound. We get our first crack at the new Kawasaki ZX-10R during an intro ride at Sepang in Malaysia. The bike has propelled both Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea to World Superbike championships and for 2016 it gets an electrical overhaul, new mechanical bits and a revised chassis for even higher performance.
Another option in the sport touring segment is evaluated as we take the 2016 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce for spin. During our ride in Spain aboard the new Turismo Veloce we find not only a beautiful machine, but one that packs a punch. It’s surely one of MV’s most refined packages to-date.
Next-up is the 2016 Ducati XDiavel, a stylish power cruiser that pulls hard, handles well and pushes the boundaries of class. For a more traditional cruiser, be sure to check out our review of the 2016 Indian Chieftain, a top-tier bagger that handled the winding roads through the Ozarks with aplomb.
If off road is more your style, then don’t miss our first ride aboard Yamaha’s 2016 YZ250X, a completely revamped two-stroke that builds off the strengths of the brand’s popular motocrosser, the YZ250. Our dirt shenanigans continue with a ride aboard the new Husqvarna 701 Enduro followed by a bit more time on the asphalt with the Husky 701 Supermoto.
In addition to all that first ride goodness, we also head up to Portland, Oregon to check out the wildly popular One Motorcycle Show.
Monthly features from our Backmarker and Memorable Motorcycle experts grace the pages as well, with a look at Brock Downey and his insatiable love of BMW motorcycles. Then it’s off to sample a classic machine from Norton, the Commando 750.
In the product review section we give our thoughts on the new WP AER 48 Air Fork, SIDI’s Crossfire 2 SRS Boots, the REV’IT! Dayton Jacket and TCX X-Garage Boots.
