My V Star 1100 Classic is a great bike. Although, as I have read from others I also think it would be better to have one more gear. I think it would make cruising at higher speeds a little more enjoyable, especially if you have loud pipes, as mine does. Other than that I can't find any faults. They ride and handle great. They also have plenty of get up and go.

The V-Star is a fantastic bike. For something over 600lbs it handles and carries itself extremely well. All the controls are easy to operate and are laid out in a logical manner. I have three complaints, two of which are fairly easy to fix. The internal oil filter, the seat and the 5 speed transmission. The first two are quick fixes with after-market products, which makes life much easier. The transmission makes the bike feel like it needs another gear. When up on highway speeds, the engine revs higher than it should. The simplest fix I've found is re-jetting the carbs.
It's a great bike to ride that looks fantastic. It's no wonder that Yamaha really hasn't touched it since it was introduced in the late 90's.
