I own a HD Road King and wanted another motorcycle to ride on hot days in SW Florida cause my Road King gets pretty hot on the legs in the summer. The Burgman 650 has plenty of top end (freeway) power and pick up that is very adequate. Because of the Variable Transmission, the gearing is not as low as a manual motorcycle so the initial pick up is just a bit slower, kind of like starting out in 2nd gear, but quickly gets up to speed. There is even a POWER switch to change the shift points for more power and a MANUAL over-ride to shift all 5 gears. The ride is excellent and the passenger seat is much roomier than my Road King. The dash layout is also excellent and easy to see even in the sunlight. Extremely stable and aerodynamic at high speeds with very good handling in corners. I've owned the motorcycle for 1 year and have had no problems to date. In many ways, it's more fun to drive than my Road King.
